About Me

                About me

am an avid amateur photographer with a lifelong passion for photography. I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, a place that has grown and changed greatly over my lifetime, and given me wonderful opportunities to observe life.

I developed my first roll of black and white film exposed in my mother's Kodak Brownie camera, but by taking those negatives and printing them on photo paper, I have been enthralled with the photographic process and that of creating images that capture the world around me. That has been my endeavor ever since: to capture my day-to-day surroundings and observations of the things that interest me and have in some way had an impact on me.

Artist Statement

As a photographer, my work is rooted in the belief that images have the power to capture moments of truth, emotion, and transformation. I am drawn to the quiet beauty in everyday life—the fleeting expressions, the unnoticed details, and the landscapes where human presence intertwines with nature. Through my lens, I seek to create visual narratives that transcend the ordinary, offering a fresh perspective on the world around us.

I approach photography with a sense of curiosity, looking for stories in the spaces between the frame, where light, shadow, and texture tell their own stories. I believe that photography is more than just documenting; it’s an exploration of the human condition, a way to connect the viewer to both the subject and the emotion behind it.

Whether capturing the raw energy of a city street, the solitude of nature, or the intimacy of a portrait, my intention is to evoke a sense of wonder and reflection. Each image I create is an invitation to pause and see the world with new eyes—to celebrate the small moments that often go unnoticed but hold deep significance.

In my work, I strive to balance technical precision with a personal, emotive approach. For me, photography is an ongoing conversation between light, composition, and the fleeting nature of time. It’s a way of creating a bridge between the physical world and our emotional landscape, allowing us to see beyond what is immediately visible.

This site is my personal platform to display my images.   These images are my observations of my surroundings and tells my story, of where I have been and what I have seen.

Woody, in the image on the left, represents my transformation from a life of making a living to a life of making images, from one of necessity to one of enjoyment. It has been a much bigger journey than I ever expected!
